Please drop off books in the Main Office (clock tower, off of Stadium Blvd.) by Tuesday, May 2nd.

Books should be in print and available locally and/or on Amazon. They shouldn’t exceed $25. If you have any difficulty buying the book, please let Bethany know.

Ann Arbor Student Board Orientation Annoucement

Overview of the Ann Arbor Student Board:

After the Ann Arbor Student Board was initially proposed and created by two AAPS students Christine Kang and Vivian Li, with the approval and support of the Board of Education and district administration, the Ann Arbor Student Board is officially launching for the 2022-2023 school year! The Ann Arbor Student Board (A2SB) will help to connect students across the six high schools in the Ann Arbor Public Schools (AAPS) through regular meetings and events each academic year. It will serve to enhance the overall high school student experience by aggregating student voices, sharing with the AAPS Administration and Board of Education, and working to incorporate student voices in key decision-making to promote diverse, equitable, and inclusive policies, practices, and programs.

A2SB Orientation (August 17th and August 18th):

To introduce all AAPS high schoolers to the student-led A2SB, a 2-day orientation will be held. Each orientation will cover information about the Ann Arbor Student Board (including structure, vision, and meeting plans), have a question and answer session, and provide opportunities for high schoolers from across different schools to collaborate and form connections. The Ann Arbor Student Board orientation will occur over 2 days: August 17th from 5:00PM-6:15PM and August 18th from 5:00PM-6:15PM. The orientation will be in-person at Pioneer High School in the Cafeteria annex.  Attendees should park in the Pioneer student lot off of Main street and enter and exit the building through the Clocktower entrance off of Stadium Blvd. Please make sure that you have a ride promptly at 6:15PM.  As we are not sure what our county Covid status will be on those dates, please bring a mask in case our county Covid status requires that we wear them. The same information will be covered at each session, so it is not necessary to attend both days.

If you are interested in joining the student board and plan to attend, please use this link to RSVP as we need to know how many students are coming. OR please fill out this link if you are interested in joining the Ann Arbor Student Board and cannot attend either of the orientation days. The due date to fill out this form is August 12th by 8:00PM.
